Yong Zhou, a renowned oil painter born in 1953 in Anhui, China, holds an MFA from the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts. He is the founder and professor of the New Jersey Art Academy, artistic consultant for the Asian Cultural Center at Rutgers University, and deputy director of the Chinese Department at the New England Museum of Contemporary Art.
周勇，著名油畫家，1953年生於中國安徽。中國西安美術學院油畫碩士，現任美國新澤西美術學院教授（創始人）、美國羅格斯（Rutgers）大學亞洲文化中心藝術顧問、美國康州新英格蘭博物館中國部副主任、中國新疆藝術學院教授、中國新疆師範大學教授。
Yong Zhou was born in 1953 in Anhui Province, China. He graduated from Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts with a master's degree in oil painting. He is currently a professor at the New Jersey Art Academy (Founder), Artistic Consultant of the Asian Cultural Center at Rutgers University, and Deputy Director of the Chinese Department at the New England Museum of Connecticut for Contemporary Art.
1993年，周勇新疆風情組畫，參加聯合國"世界環境藝術大賽展"榮獲聯合國頒發的"世界環境藝術大賽"優秀獎，特邀前往美國、紐約、舊金山、芝加哥舉辦個人畫展。1995年，聯合國以特殊人才為其申請全家移民美國。
In 1993, Zhou's Xinjiang series won the "World Environmental Artistic Competition" Award from the UNEP. He was invited to hold solo exhibitions in New York, San Francisco, and Chicago. In 1995, the UN sponsored his family's immigration to the U.S. under the "Outstanding Intellectual" program.
周勇在世界各地均舉辦畫展，尤其在美國紐約、舊金山、費城、中國北京、新疆、香港及台北等地留下足跡。新澤西州前州長麥克格律威、惠特曼女士均邀請周勇為其繪製個人肖像。
Zhou's works have been exhibited globally, including New York, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Beijing, and Taipei. Former NJ Governors Jim McGreevey and Christie T. Whitman commissioned him for their official portraits.
周勇教授的創作大都取材於令人神往的亞洲腹地、美國西部牛仔的風土人情，展示了人與大自然的和諧之美。畫家含蓄而浪漫的意境與卓越的技巧渾然一體。
His themes often feature the mysterious Asian hinterland and the American West, embodying the harmony between man and nature through a profound, romantic, and unique artistic style.
